The 20rd Drum, or 20 Round Drum, is an attachment available exclusively to the AA-12. It is unlocked by attaining 1000 kills, or it can be unlocked with credits (CR).


The AA-12 wasn't originally designed for just a stick magazine. To enhance the ability of the AA-12's function as a combat shotgun, the option to use a large drum magazine would be available. Much like other weapons in history with drum magazines, the extra bulk of the magazine would be frowned upon, and is illegal in some jurisdictions.


General Information

The 20rd Drum provides a tremendous increase in magazine capacity at the cost of mobility, reload speed, and a small amount of reserve ammunition.

Usage & Tactics

With the extended magazine, the AA-12 transitions from being a mobile hit-and-run weapon to a more defensively oriented weapon. The bulk of the magazine will slow the player down, making them less able to react to a rapidly changing situation, and overall making it much more difficult for them to stay ready in protracted engagements. Compared to something like the Saiga-12, though, the AA-12 becomes a much better weapon for sweeping out rooms with this attachment.


The 20rd Drum is an optimal choice for aggressive defenders, and makes up for some of the AA12's shortcomings. However, it's very easy to expend more ammo, especially when trying to pepper targets at range.


  • This is the second distinct extended magazine attachment to be added, after the 33rd Mag.
    • This also makes it the third extended magazine attachment in the game.
