In Testing refers to items that are currently in the Test Place. There, they are tested primarily by Phantom Forces developers and moderators, although they can be used by regular players.
Gameplay features of these items are highly subject to change, as developers experiment with different ideas or ways to balance the tested subject. This is to make sure that it is ready for release to the Phantom Forces, and to help prevent unwanted issues from occuring.
Occasionally, items can be scrapped or recycled. Scrapped is when something is removed from the game and is not seen again; examples of a weapon being scrapped is from the older Community Testing Environment, such as the G11K2, which has not been seen since the CTE was shutdown.
Recycled is when an item is removed but its concept (such as its function and purpose) feature with a different subject, however, the name and model of the new subject tends to differ from the scrapped one. An example of this was the DBV12, which was originally in the Test Place, then was scrapped for remodeling. However, its statistics are quite similar to the Saiga-12, so it is quite likely the DBV12 influenced the Saiga. Furthermore, the DBV12 made a return into the main game.
