The Aimpoint CompM4 is a passive red dot collimator reflex sight which offers superior situational awareness by providing an uncluttered field of view.
–In-game description

The Comp Aimpoint is a Swedish Red Dot Sight. It requires 130 kills to be unlocked, or can be unlocked with credits.

History[]

Manufactured by Aimpoint AB, the Comp Aimpoint is a non-magnifying red dot reflex sight for firearms. It is designated the M68 CCO by the US Armed Forces, and can currently be found on countless rifles in service with the U.S. It was designed to be compatible with the M16/M4 rifle family, but can be attached to any weapon with a Picatinny rail. The sight's red dot is NVG-compatible, meaning that it can be seen through night vision instruments.

In-Game[]

General Information[]

The Comp Aimpoint is a red-dot sight with a large field of view. Characterized by the tube-like optic, this sight has a magnification of 1.9, pitting it slightly behind the MARS and ahead of the Z-Point. As one of the earliest optics unlocked with a large field-of-view (FOV), it is suitable for nearly all close-to-medium ranged guns.

Usage & Tactics[]

The Comp Aimpoint is one of many red-dot sight optic that allows for more aim stability and less accuracy, although it has a more positive effect on accuracy than sights like the Coyote or the Kobra Sight. Shooters can treat the Comp as a normal red-dot sight.

This optic is preferred for use at a mid-close range because of its 1.9x magnification, decent field of view, low aim sensitivity, thick red-dot and relatively thick frame, which is still thinner than high-zoom optics like the ACOG and PK-A. However, this weapon can find some use at long-range on certain weapons, thanks to its lower aim sensitivity and decent accuracy. This optic is best for weapons which have low, controllable recoil, and along with the clear sight picture and mid-range magnification, it makes this sight a highly versatile optic attachment to use.

Conclusion[]

The Comp Aimpoint is a very versatile sight, with a high zoom, and a relativity low kill requirement. A very good sight for close to mid ranged combat, while being very unobstructive.

Pros and Cons[]

Pros:

  • A medium magnification sight that is great for close to long-ranged combat.
  • Clear sight picture.
  • Large field of view when ADS
  • A glass-hack sight, allowing a large FOV and view through some meshes.

Cons:

  • Low magnification as a result makes it less effective at longer ranges.
  • Could be obstructive when hipfiring on some guns
  • It's red dot is small

Trivia[]

  • The Comp Aimpoint is, as of time of writing, the only Swedish attachment in the game.
  • The model used in-game is based on the CompM4.[1]
  • The US Army has bought 1,000,000 M68 CCO's and issued 85% of Army M4 rifles with them.
  • Realistically, the Comp Aimpoint's non-magnifying design allows for the user to keep both eyes open for situational awareness while still superimposing the red dot in the user's vision.
  • When the Comp Aimpoint is equipped on a weapon with a skin in Slot 1, the lower right area of the sight body may clip with the skin, showing an inconsistent skin pattern.
