The EOTech XPS2 is an American Optic attachment in Phantom Forces. It is unlocked by attaining 45 kills with a weapon or by purchasing it with credits.
History[]
The EOTech XPS2 is the smallest, most compact optic that EOTech has to offer. It is often used by hunters and law enforcement.[1]
The sight runs on a smaller CR123A 3V lithium battery. This configuration leaves more rail space than usual for accessories such as magnifiers.[2]
In-Game[]
General Information[]
The EOTech XPS2 is the third optical attachment unlocked, except for weapons that do not have access to the Z-Point where it is the second unlocked. It is very similar to its counterpart, the EOTech 552.
Although similar, there are notable differences between the 552 and the XPS2, such as the reticle. The XPS2's reticle is smaller and less obstructive but lacks the bullet drop diagrams. It is also unlocked earlier, with 45 kills versus the 85, and has a higher magnification level than the 552.
Usage & Tactics[]
This attachment is most practically used at close-to-mid range, due to its low magnification level. If the player uses it at long range, they may need to compensate for the bullet drop. Due to this, it is best used on close to mid range guns. It is worth trying it on some LMGs, such as the HK21, or the M60, as a larger optic can be helpful for close range engagements. This optic is also useful on some Carbines and Assault Rifles, but should only be used until similar optics are unlocked as, although it is a good optic, there are much better optics available with a higher kill requirement.
Conclusion[]
This optic is best used with CQC focus styled gameplay but can still be used somewhat effectively for medium-long range combat. The outer-ring can provide a clear picture for user to "lock on" to moving targets easier to gun down moving targets. This optic is a good choice when a user does not have much optics, and is effective until more clear but similar optics are unlocked, such as the EoTech XPS2, and the Barska Electro.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros:
- Low amount of kills required to unlock (45).
- Low magnification provides less camera recoil.
- Clear view on target in CQC.
- Has range finder (dots under the main reticle)
Cons:
- Has a bulky and obstructive frame.
- Not suited for longer ranges due to low magnification.
Trivia[]
- EOTech does not offer the reticle on the in-game model.
- This sight has the same appearance as the XPS model, but it does not have night vision-compatibility.
- For a long time, the EOTech XPS2 had an unlock requirement of 55 kills, but it was changed to 45 kills in the Aim & Accuracy update.
- On the L2A3, the Eotech XPS2 is taped on to the gun with knock off Spongebob tape. This is a reference to the STEN gun that was removed.
