The G36K is a German Carbine variant of the G36 Assault Rifle that was exclusive to the Community Testing Enviroment. After the CTE closed, it was confirmed that the G36K would never be implemented into the main game.
The G36K is a shortened variant of the Heckler and Koch G36 Assault Rifle. The G36K is longer than the sub-carbine variant, the G36C.
G36K (K—kurz "short"): carbine variant with a shorter barrel (fitted with an open-type flash suppressor) and a shorter forend, which includes a bottom rail that can be used to attach tactical accessories, such as a UTL flashlight from the USP pistol. The carbine's barrel lacks the ability to launch rifle grenades and it will not support a bayonet. The weapon retained the ability to be used with the AG36 grenade launcher. G36Ks in service with German special forces are issued with a 100-round C-Mag drum. There are two variants of the G36K. The first and most commonly known has x3 scope/carry handle attached to the top, while the second is equipped with iron sights and a rail (no scope included).
The G36K was statistically similar to the G36, with moderate, tempered recoil matched by reasonable damage in most any given combat situation. It has an identical firerate of 750 RPM.
Usage & Tactics
The G36K was essentially a G36 with a G36C's sight rail. It performed very similarly, being good at medium range combat.
The G36K is literally just a reskinned G36, and as such should be used like a G36 for all intents and purposes. Its only drawback is the lack of a default telescopic sight.
Pros & Cons
- See G36.
- Comes with less obstructive G36C iron sights.
- See G36.
- Does not come with telescopic sight.
- The specific variant seen in-game is the G36KE. This is because the G36K comes with default scope and carry handle like the G36, and the export variant (E) doesn't.
- The G36K appears in the Sci-Fi series Stargate SG-1.
