Otherworld is the version of Suburbia that was used in the Halloween 2020 Update
Overview[]
Otherworld appears to be a distorted version of the same suburb where the original map stands. The suburb itself is floating over a dark void, only held in place by tentacles of an unknown origin. All of the houses show heavy signs of dilapidation while everything in the map is corroded and rusty.
Landmarks[]
- Central Area
- Graveyard
- Bush Garden
- Pool
- Ritual Houses
Objectives[]
Location | Flare | Hill | Flag |
---|---|---|---|
Graveyard | A | ||
Central Area | B | ✔️ | |
Pool | C | ||
Southern House | Phantoms | ||
Northern House | Ghosts |
Strategy[]
This map is symmetrical, meaning that no side has a positional advantage
Althought this map is a halloween version, the structure of the map has been partially altered. Like in the original map, Shotguns, SMGs and generally close-quarter focused weapons are the prevalent choice due to its closed, narrow passages. Snipers can be at a disadvantage, as the map has no elevated positions, and all of the rooftops are inaccessible
Trivia[]
- The map's aesthetic is heavily reminiscent of the Silent Hill series
- There are 2 ritual circles present throughout the map. One of them is surrounded in mannequins and the other features the image of a demon slowly coming out
- The creature in this decal has been named as "Mr. Smiles" according to the map's creator. This creature is also present in The Culling, although in the form of a 3-D Model instead
- The origin or the identity of the tentacles that appear throughout and below the map is unknown
- This is one of the few maps to feature sound ambientation. Other maps that include this feature are Ghost Town, Apocalypse and Eye of the Storm, as well as Dark Sector
