I like it because it can mow down enemies, has great penetration, huge mag, insane impression. I don't think I have a favorite gun, I just use it because I need to level up quickly, and the points from it, level you up slightly faster. You can also get wallbangs, which also give you more points.
Yeah. Somebody with a BFG dies, one of my teammates GO AS FAST AS THEY CAN to pick up the freaking gun, and when one picks it up, the other teamates shout "DROP THAT GUN" "STOP STEALING" and "I'M UNFRIENDING YOU"
Just for a PVC pipe, wow.
BFG 50 < Hecate II
Unless you don't have Hecate but have BFG.
The BFG while having an incredibly low skill ceiling is in my eyes the worst sniper in the game. If you can hit headshots any other gun would be better since you don't have to worry about the horrible fire rate. If you're having a hard time dealing with the BFG you'll need to learn their habits (camping spots, where do they go to cover, etc.) and then out snipe them or flank them. Running into the middle of Desert storm won't help you so go around, and be sure to switch up your routes often or else they'll pick up on it.
the PGM Precision Hecate II is used for actual sniping (big baguette launcher), the Barret M107 is used for detonating unsafe ammunition (in real life), and the BFG 50 is just a big, over-glorified PVC pipe, as Admiral Klinge said.
But still. I assume you're a highly (or at least decently) skilled player that remembers to move around while sniping to ensure that someone doesn't get a free kill. However, most BFG users don't do that. They just sit there. Plus, movement speed for BFG is pretty slow, so say if I had a mosin nagant, I could easily outmaneuver a BFG user and have more leeway since I can fire three shots in the same time that person has to fire one shot.
I'm trying to get 100 kills on every sniper I have. Currently have 100 on all guns at or before Mosin Nagant except for the AWS (working on that) and AWM (don't have it yet). So right now technically I'm maining AWS
anyone who snipes in CQC and calls shotguns OP is not only wrong, you're also annoying.
it is arguable that snipers are 'OP'. though they do require more skill, they can instakill from literally any viable map range. (not more than 600 studs, really)
the hecate is the only .50 cal sniper that is actually used for sniping, M107 is for detonating unsafe ammunition, and the BFG is an anti-materiel rifle aka PVC pipe with AR-15 trigger grouping and a big scope
I like using SL-8, I don't know why everyone hates on it so much. However, using SL-8 on a CQC map isn't a super good idea since most people can't click fast enough to gun someone down before they get one-shot by all the KSG users out there.
Also, think about the Dragunov SVU before you ever call snipers OP again
Regarding that BFG 50 should be removed from the game. that's going to make it known as the first weapon to be removed by Stylis due to extremely negative feedback (which I believed the StyLis Studios developers should stand firm, rather than giving in to public opinion, and yeah if they were to back down, they're cowards [no offense])
We get to choose, buy to unlock or rank up to unlock whatever weapon we choose, because this is a game. No sanctions, no restrictions, no tariffs or no license required. NO PERMITS required in-game to have the BFG 50. Though it makes this a sign that the user has lack of skill, it is probably just trying to make it slightly easier to aim on moving targets because the torso is now an easy-aim. I ignored the fact that the BFG-50 is a noob-weapon, but the only problem is, I kept missing shots on moving targets due to my stress, and high latency ping, so this means I'm still not skilled with BFG 50, and I have to aim at their heads more often even though it is a low-skill capped weapon.
Kicking out players for just using BFG 50 is only going to make things worse, and that's only making them using the BFG 50 even more frequently. (Bitter revenge)
Sure... some people out there might be using credit cards from their parents or their own credit cards to get more R$ (Robux) to buy more credits in order to unlock high-ranked weapons like G11K2 , WA2000 , Steyr Scout , AA-12 or even the BFG 50, but still ain't going to earn XP quickly, but only if they play Phantom Forces more frequently. If that's the case, why not the BFG 50 should get a little bit of nerfing (just reducing the damage up to 99 -> 94, but increase the damage range by 25%) if any of you are still unconvinced?
People who say the BFG sucks are just salty. I can buy any gun and people won't care until they realize 'Oh sh*t this guy has 3 kills, he is an avengers level threat!!!! Kick him he sweaty tryhard! You gun sucks but I still complain about it because IQ not existence'
The BFG has such a slow RoF somebody shot at me but got the kill after the game ended. It also has a very slow reload, which both combined counter the fact that it's one-shot. Most BFG users lack much skill and thus any good sniper should be able to snipe a BFG user.
All the straight pull bolt does is improve RoF by not making you scope out every time you need to make a shot. Why would anyone put a straight pull bolt on a Hecate tho? Its RoF is terrible and its recoil literally says "don't get the straight pull bolt".
I once saw a rank 11 with intervention + straight pull bolt. ;-;
its recoil is infact much better than the BFG's, similar to the M107's real life recoil. there should be some scope miss-aligning when chambering a round from the magazine. everything you said except that you picked it up is wrong, even that i'm questioning. maybe your monitor got unplugged? be more specific. also, aiming with the Hecate is not challenging at all...
Just mow the BFGers with the L86 LSW or some other auto weapon that excells at range. I personally like to mow down BFGers with the L86 because the L86 has same muzzle velocity as BFG. LMG's I would especially recomend you to use at long range to kill BFGers because the supression makes it so they cant ADS.
i have never been votekicked for using the LSW, even got some crazy 50 kill 6.5 KD Ravod 911 game even though i really suck at the game. i've been votekicked only for people not agreeing that the HK416 is sweaty. i've never been kicked for using an M60 or any other annoying gun.
I also did use BFG 50 and the L86 LSW on Mirage, Highway Lot and Dunes... It was really good, while the latter is a bit challenging, but given it's 3,000 m/s of muzzle velocity, it was very good in gunning down snipers.
BFG 50 however, should only be focused on defensive play, trying to gun down enemies one by one (which is a little inefficient and slow to be honest). Same thing goes to M107 and Hecate II, which they are heavy (defensive role)
For the BFG thing, well, let's be honest, the BFG requires some skill, albeit less than most snipers, to use. You only get one bullet. You have to be accurate and hit your target, or you won't be able to for the next 3 seconds.
The Intervention has a muzzle velocity of 3200 and BFG's is 3000
Now that they buffed the intervention it can 1SK up to 150 studs and 1SK headshot at all ranges. The intervention is one of those snipers where you have to nail that first shot to the head if you dont want your enemy to be running away or kill you
personally, i think that the bfg is a waste of money/ training gun
its heavy, and has only 1 shot.
you can easily outmatch the bfg with *any* sniper if you're a good shot.
i only use it to piss the other team off/ as a last resort gun lol
otherwise, mosin ftw!
nah nah best sniper is g36 semi auto w/ pso 1m2 or any x3+ scope really, compensator, folding, glaser or bt and ap.
30 bullets of 5.56x45 going with next to no recoil on semi and 4sk on any range is way better than 5/10 bullets of [insert sniper calibre here] with low recoil and 1/2sk on any range imo.
It depends on how skilled, how good with your snipers/DMR's you're using and what playstyle you prefer.
I used all snipers, including the BFG 50 (which I got 700+ kills for shooting down players during the King of the Hill & Team Deathmatch)
Breech-loading & bolt-actions are not semi-auto, they must be unscoped after every shot (before reloading for BFG 50). If in semi-auto, then that would keep you scoped and you will always focus on the target. The recoil on snipers is not the factor, so generally, recoil-reducing attachments or suppressors are not needed (unless if they like stealthy gameplay over muzzle velocity, damage or shot-to-kill, which stealth is almost not possible, because this is not like Entry Point or Don't Breathe film, nor an espionage operation here, because combat happens everywhere)
If one were to possess insta-kill ensuring snipers, like all .50 BMG (.50 caliber) sniper rifles such as BFG 50, Hecate II, and M107, they have to sacrifice their hit & run and CQC performance due to their heavyweight, and the slow bolt cycling [Hecate II], slow recovery speed and handling [M107], and the increases of death when you missed a shot to an enemy [BFG 50], or more can all it takes to bite your ass if one were to use it improperly or overconfidently.
SL-8 / G36 might be the best ones to some because it's SEMI-AUTOMATIC, but damage is lower than most DMR's (with G36 even lower than SL-8), so aim for the heads for faster kill (and that would require faster trigger-finger which that would stress out your hands). So VSS Vintorez can be used for most playstyles; CQC & medium-far combat. (and it has a full auto, highest damage & 700 RPM firerate, making this as the fastest-firing weapon in it's class as a DMR)
But still, the best weapon is determinant by skill, skill cap required, how good you are at in Phantom Forces (or how often you played), how experienced or how often you used any weapon of your choice.
(Plus, we have the rights to choose whatever weapon we want. Kicking them out for just using BFG 50 or any hated weapons, is only going to make them use BFG 50 even more.)
The AA-12 isn't even that good lol. The only thing that's good about it is the automatic fire, otherwise if you wanna go outside close quarters combat, which the gun is very good at, it'll be hard to use at medium to slightly long range. Pretty much every other shotgun dominates it statistically.
one burst to the head, has a 20 round magazine. pretty good for taking on multiple enemies or just one. like 90% of the time, the TEC-9 won't kill more than 2 people.
also, if you want a real AA-12, use the DBV12. the .410 conversion is fun to use (burst shotgun). i use a reflex sight, muzzle brake, green laser, red laser, and default ammo. i find that flechette makes the DBV tickle outside of 40 studs, effectively making it a worse AA-12. one time on warehouse, someone was using your average cancer AA-12 setup. i got fed up of going 8-6, so i brought out my DBV12. after that, i only died once to him due to the DBV's superior range.
i mean that in the test place there is a DBV12 attachment called ".410 Conversion" (yes still shotgun shells)
put it on and watch as you have a 1,000 RPM burst that has the burst cooldown time of about an M4. the .410 conversion allows you to carry 90 rounds total, 30 rounds per magazine. if you were to put a muzzle booster on it, well, you already know...
btw, i tested it on the Test Place. the KS-23M has superior spread to the DB. the Stevens DB with PSO-1M2 Scope, Muzzle Booster, Blue Laser, Blue Laser, and Slugs. The KS-23M with the Sniper Barrel TM, PSO-1M2, Blue Laser, Blue Laser, and Slugs.
KS-23M is very fun to use, it's very slow but rewarding if used effectively.
I bought the Stevens DB in the test place to test it out and it was fun. I'm only one rank away from unlocking it so I'm looking forward to using that. Any advice on how to use it effectively from people who already have it?
if you use burst mode the stevens DB turns into the bfg. whether that's good or not is up to you lol. Normal buckshot on the Stevens is already op, just make sure you can use a good secondary since you'll be reloading a lot.
Last night, I was using the L86 LSW on Ruins, and keep in mind I'm pretty good with this gun. So I killed the same player like 3 times in a row. That player was a rank 27, and initiated a votekick on me. I asked for a reason for kicking me, but all he replied with was the n-word. Me and some other players were going to votekick him out for being toxic, then he left after I called him out for being racist and for abusing the votekick system.
The PF community is getting more toxic by the day unfortunately :(
I know what u mean RaceCarBunny. Back on topic,
The Dragunov SVU (Snayperska Vintovka Uskorotchynna; english: Dragunov Sniper Rifle Shortened) is a modified, shortened version of the Dragunov SVD (Snayperska Vintovka Dragunov) and is indeed a sniper rifle. It was intended to be the SVD's successor (i think), but to match the demands of their internal affairs department, they had to remake the entire rifle, resulting in not a mark of the SVD, but a completely new, bullpup sniper rifle.
and yet the SCAR SSR can one-tap further than it? the SVU has a bigger bullet...(7.62x51mm NATO vs 7.62x54mmR)
ok im not talking about real life names or any BS like that, only one-tap range
the Dragunov SVU is not a real sniper rifle even if Russia calls it one. in Phantom Forces it isn't based on it's name or appearance, its ability to instakill to the head at all ranges makes it one. the Dragunov can be amazing in close quarters and medium range
so, in my books, it's a medium-ranged (one-tap head up to 125 studs if i recall), close-quarters capable, DMR.
