Personally, Phantom forces just needs to get more recognizable firearms into the game. Players don't want to see another AK-12 variant, they want to see "that" gun; honestly there are a lot of guns that can be considered as recognizable that Stylis hasn't added yet. For me, I would like to see the STG44, I mean it's the first modern AR (and offers another ww2 gun), and inspired all ARs to come (AK gas system and M16 push pin stock). Many people make the argument that why a WW2 gun would be put into a modern FPS game, but with many parts of the 3rd world relying on more older guns (Parts of the Middle East use ww2-early cold war era guns), I feel like it would indeed fit the game. I will say that I see the STG's inclusion to the game as highly unlikely due to the fact that there are too many ARs at this time, and it would be more likely for an LMG or DMR to be added, but I feel like by looking over not only a classic, but iconic gun is just a shame.
Let's go with the F2000. I should specify the original version, which basicly always feature the 1.6x Scope. Concerning the GL1 grenade launcher ? I let you debate. Personally I would include it but using only flares in order to spot enemy in the dark rather than letting people buy it and spam HE grenades days long.
Why the F2000 ? I have a couple of reasons.
1- Obviously it is part of Battlefield's arsenal since many years, which is the game that heavily inspired Phantom Forces. It has a reputation for being a solid gun in close range due to low damage and high RoF. The Bad Company 1 incarnation of the F2000 is also notorious for being one of the rarest guns within any video games. I could explain why but I guess this isn't the good place to talk of and chances are you know why. Well, if a game yells Battlefield, the F2000 should be there.
2- Personally it is my favourite assault rifle. No but really the concept of a bullpup assault rifle ejecting cases at front ... is really impressing and at some form it is making sucess IRL: The Slovenian army is making the F2000 their standard rifle (They use a special variant of the F2000 Tactical with elevated rail so it includes a carry handle) and his main use is within special forces. The only major criticism that can be adressed at is the inability to inspect the chamber for cleaning jams. Sure there is that " toilet seat " but you know what I mean. Besides, it is a personally formidable assault rifle and if I had to exclude the M231, I would certainly place no.1 the F2000 in PF.
3- We don't have too many bullpup assault rifles besides the FAMAS G2, RSAF L85A2 and Steyr AUG. I clearly specified Assault Rifles because I know some of you would argue we have guns like the Groza, L86 LSW and so on.
Rank ? I would go with 250. I know, some of you think I am crazy but hey ! We got the Steyr Scout and it is 195. Despite this, the Steyr Scout is well regarded. So why not ? Plus it is generally adopted by special forces so the higher rank could reflect this.
Pros and cons ? This is where my toughts were a little complicated because I wanted something unusual in the performances withing being either totally broken or completely poodle shooting. Let me know in a scale of 10 how much I nail balancing:
|Pros|
- 2nd fastest RoF among all bullpup assault rifles at 850 RPM
- Solid Minimum/Maximum Damage
- High Muzzle Velocity.
- Great Range (Drop is quite low and takes quite far range to fully drop)
- Has a good ammount of features by default.
|Cons|
- Has higher recoil than most assault rifles besides the M231 (sligthy more horizontal recoil than the m231 and more vertical recoil than the AK47)
- Quite slow reloading animation due to the bolt getting manually locked back/slapped like in OG HK guns and lacking the drop-free magazine feature.
- Cannot fit any attachments besides the default iron sights, the FS2000 barrel (which is longer than the standard F2000 barrel), the GL1 grenade launcher and the optional bayonet. Wait, all these attachments could be included all at once besides the barrel and iron sights so the selection is roughly 2.
- Despite being made of composite materials, the mobility would be similar to the L86 LSW due to the massively overbuilt receiver.
- Quite high rank unlocking at rank 250.
To conclude I view the F2000 as an addition that should be as unusual as it is. IRL, despite being an assault rifle which is a staple of standard issue, the F2000 is definitively used by more specialized groups besides the slovenian army. In PF, it could be that one gun that despite having greater raw output, demands the player to sacrifice pros that makes an assault rifle easy to use. You would have to deal with slower mobility, higher recoil, longer reloading and a lack of modularity which forces you to live with the F2000 the way it is and the only attachments you have cannot help you too much. However in exchange, you can definitively hit harder than most assault rifles with a quite high RoF no matter the range and you would have a nice ammount of equipements to live with.
Do you think the F2000 should be in ? Want to change stuff from my vision of the F2000 ?. I let you debate.
Heck, I think it a good idea. I don't know all the real stats but I think it has potential.
Since Stylis is breeding the guns together, (MG3KWS+M60=HK21) why not add the HS VHS K2? Its the love-child of the G36 and the FAMAS.
more recognizable guns like das said. we dont want another FAL or AK varient, we want new guns that people who arent geeks when it comes to guns know.
AA-12 that has a drum mag in attachments
For shotguns, I would go with a lever-action one. I like the Henry 45-70 a lot but I always found strange that despite having a lever-action rifle, we never had a lever-action shotgun which used to be the best platform for lever-action. Indeed, due to most of them having tubular magazines, having access to pointy bullets cartridges was impossible because otherwise as soon as you shoot, a chain reaction would happen and that would be really bad. So, which lever-action shotgun I think should be there ? The Winchester Model 1901.
Now, most of you probably realized I want the model 1887 which is basicly infamous for being featured in Terminator and of course Modern Warfare 2. So, why the Model 1901 and not the Model 1887 ? My reasons are that:
1- The Model 1901's action strength was improved to use smokeless powder rather than black powder. For a modern game, this is favourable because despite being much older than a Lebel, you would at least have a modern shotgun shell.
2- The 10 Gauge Shell would make it quite unique among most shotguns which use 12 gauge. As far as I am aware, 10 gauge perform quite similar to 12 gauge ... they are just quite rare.
3- It was one of the last hurrah of the lever-action era, alongside the Winchester Model 1995. John Browning certainly knew pump-action and bolt-action would take the relieve before he even designed the Model 1887, so for lever-action shotguns, the most modern option in my toughts is the Model 1901.
Rank ? I would say ... maybe 191. Yeah Stylis tend to deteminate rank by the name ... I don't want to judge that but yeah.
Performances ? Maybe it could have the fastest RoF of all non self-loading shotguns but in exchange the weakest of them all while still being stronger than the SPAS-12. Either that or the exact opposite.
More pistols like the XD.45 and the USP. Bring back the C7 or add the C8 to carabines. Add more weird guns like the AK-63. The FN F2000 would be cool.
AT-4 Launcher
Replaces grenades and can only be used once.
Damage 300-0
Blast Radius 50 studs
Killing radius 22 studs
Can penetrate 1.0 studs.
Unlocks at 1000 grenade kills and cannot be bought. Muzzle velocity 250 studs a second.
When equipped a giant obvious tube will be on your back, disappears when the launcher is used. Firing graphics is a poof of smoke and then a grenade shoots from the tube and rockets to the target, giving away your position and showing you on the enemy radar for twice the normal amount of time.
The grenade kills thing is so that noobs don't unlock it without a bit of SERIOUS grinding.
So....?
